Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources will oversee all HR operations processes related to benefits, 401(k) administration, leave management, employee relations, payroll, HRIS systems, and compliance. This role ensures that all programs and processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to leadership while leading a team responsible for delivering exceptional HR services.
Key Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration: Oversee design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and wellness initiatives. Partner with vendors to ensure competitive offerings and cost-effective solutions.
- 401(k) and Retirement Plans: Manage company retirement plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other applicable regulations. Coordinate annual audits and employee education programs.
- Leave Administration: Direct administration of all leave programs (FMLA, ADA, PTO, etc.), ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Develop processes for accurate tracking and reporting.
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate processing. Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws and tax regulations.
- HRIS Oversight: Manage HRIS systems to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency. Lead system upgrades and integrations as needed.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a resource for conflict resolution and employee relations issues. Support performance management processes and disciplinary actions.
- Compliance & Process Management: Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and internal controls. Prepare for and manage audits related to HR functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of benefits, payroll, leave admin, HRIS systems, employee relations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
