The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource functions for the Elmington Property Management branch.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance
- Maintains responsibility for organization's compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's employee benefit program
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the executive management, on personnel matters
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities
- Performs all other duties as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
- Over 10 years of experience in property management or similar high turnover industries such as hospitality, with preference for SHRM or comparable certification.
- Extensive legal and investigation experience, including handling EEOC cases, sexual harassment, discrimination, and personnel complaints.
- Exhibits professional composure and interpersonal finesse, adept at diplomatically addressing challenges and maintaining accountability when required. Previous experience at the HR Director level is essential
- Proven experience working across multiple states/regions.
- Proficiency in developing policies and procedures, coupled with the ability to enforce accountability.
- Collaborates with a dedicated Learning and Development (L&D) professional; while our culture is globally oriented, some familiarity with L&D practices is advantageous.
- Required to be present in the office five days a week.
- Thorough understanding of onboarding processes, background checks, drug screening procedures, and compliance protocols.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
