Position Overview
We're looking for an experienced and motivated RV Park Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance operations of a large workforce RV community in Abilene, TX. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of park facilities, infrastructure, utilities, and grounds while supervising a team of maintenance professionals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. This role requires someone who can effectively balance daily maintenance priorities with preventative maintenance planning and long-term facility improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of park buildings, roads, utilities, recreational areas, and common grounds.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and utility systems.
- Monitor water, sewer, electrical, and other infrastructure to ensure reliable service throughout the park.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and utility outages while minimizing disruption to residents.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, schedule, and support maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, and other maintenance personnel.
- Assign daily work priorities and inspect completed work to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Train team members on maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and company safety standards.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Vendor & Project Coordination
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors performing specialized repairs, landscaping, and capital improvement projects.
- Ensure vendor work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meets company standards.
- Assist with developing project scopes, obtaining bids, and monitoring project progress.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Monitor purchasing needs while managing maintenance expenses within budget.
- Ensure all maintenance equipment is properly maintained, stored, and operated safely.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce OSHA, fire safety, environmental, and company safety policies.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, including severe weather response, utility failures, and other emergency situations.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable regulations and company standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the RV Park Manager and Assistant Manager to prioritize maintenance projects and operational needs.
- Communicate scheduled maintenance activities and repairs with residents in a professional manner.
- Support the Accounting Coordinator with maintenance-related work orders, invoices, purchasing documentation, and recordkeeping.
Qualifications
- Experience in property maintenance, facility management, construction, or a skilled trade required.
- Previous supervisory experience leading maintenance teams or contractors preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while responding effectively to maintenance emergencies.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using work order or maintenance management systems is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends or evenings as needed.
