What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Engineer position at ELLWOOD Group Inc?
Utilizing independent judgement this position is responsible for the development of both installation and equipment modifications throughout the facility. Overall responsibility for complete management of projects in accordance with established budgets and specification requirements from development to overall completion.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Identifying & Managing continuous improvements for infrastructure and equipment
Assisting with specifications for bids, negotiation and evaluation of contracts with vendors
Interfacing with contractors and equipment supplies, manages scheduling to assure projects are completed timely
Research, designing, maintaining, implementing, or imposing electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment product or systems for cost reduction and/or
efficiency improvements
Develop knowledge of various facility systems (water, store sewer, utility gas, etc.)
Assist the Maintenance Department with problem solving of mechanical, electrical and PLC systems throughout the facility
Assist in developing maintenance talent through personal instruction or obtaining appropriate outside training
Assist in selecting Multi-Skilled and Automation Technicians
Staying current with environmental regulations, Maintains Title V Operating Permit Data and Dep Waste Stream Documentation
Required:
Bachelor of Science, Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) preferred or a minimum of 5 year's experience in steel or heavy industry with commensurate level of
related education. Environmental experience a plus.
General knowledge of civil engineering as it applies to structural steel and concrete
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages
Project Management
Demonstrated Leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid Driver’s License
