Position Summary
Maine Tractor Company is seeking a customer-focused, organized, and mechanically inclined Parts & Service Representative to join our growing team. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers seeking parts, service, and equipment support. The ideal candidate enjoys helping customers, has strong organizational skills, and can thrive in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Our dealership services and supports Kioti Tractors, LS Tractors, Exmark, Echo, and a wide variety of other agricultural, landscaping, and outdoor power equipment brands. Experience with heavy equipment, tractors, or outdoor power equipment is preferred but not required—we're willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in person, by phone, and via email with parts and service inquiries.
- Identify, source, and order the correct replacement parts using manufacturer parts catalogs and dealership software.
- Create accurate parts and service estimates, work orders, and invoices.
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with service technicians.
- Maintain communication with customers regarding repair status, parts availability, and estimated completion times.
- Receive, stock, organize, and inventory incoming parts shipments.
- Process warranty claims and manufacturer documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Recommend maintenance items and replacement parts that improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Keep the parts department clean, organized, and customer-ready.
- Collaborate with the sales and service departments to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership management software.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in agricultural, construction, landscaping, or outdoor power equipment.
- Ability to read parts diagrams and technical information is a plus.
- Previous experience in a parts department, service department, automotive, equipment dealership, or retail parts environment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in both office and shop environments.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if necessary).
