Position Summary
Maine Tractor Company is looking for a skilled and dependable Diesel Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered agricultural and commercial equipment, with a primary focus on Kioti and LS tractors. You will also perform service and repairs on Exmark diesel-powered commercial mowers as needed.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, electrical systems, and PTO components.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service on tractors and commercial mowing equipment.
- Service and repair Kioti and LS tractors, along with Exmark diesel commercial mowers.
- Use manufacturer diagnostic software and service manuals to accurately identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Complete warranty repairs and document work according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or maintenance needed to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and time records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Stay current with manufacturer service bulletins, training, and repair procedures.
- Assist with occasional field service calls when required.
Qualifications
- Experience repairing diesel engines, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, heavy equipment, or commercial landscaping equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and diesel fuel systems.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Basic computer skills and experience using electronic diagnostic tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Kioti, LS, Exmark, Kubota, John Deere, New Holland, or similar agricultural or commercial equipment.
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in a shop environment throughout the day.
- Ability to safely operate tractors, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
