We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Baker to join our team at Elliott County Primary. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals and baked goods in accordance with established recipes and nutritional guidelines.
• Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Plan menus that meet the dietary needs of students, including accommodating allergies and special dietary requirements.
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards of excellence.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal service.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to uphold cleanliness and organization.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on culinary trends and food safety practices.
• Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience for students.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents regarding menu offerings and dietary concerns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a cook and/or baker in a school, restaurant, or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary needs.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Passion for cooking and baking, with a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits among students.
• Background check clearance as required by school policies.
