What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Ellington Public Schools?
Job Summary: Substitute teachers are expected to use lesson plans as left by the classroom teacher and to circulate through the classroom and assist students as needed. Flexibility and reliability are essential qualities, as is maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of professionalism. Substitute teachers will earn the following: $17.14/Hour for non--certified candidates and $18.57/ Hour for certified candidates and $20/ Hour for retired Ellington teachers.
There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinator
Qualifications: Substitute teachers are required to hold a bachelors degree in any field. Candidates will be required to successfully pass state and national criminal history and DCF background checks prior to beginning work.
