Position Summary:
At Elle, we amplify businesses, activists, and organizations working to make the world a better place. We cut through the noise to get their stories into the mainstream—and we’re looking for an intern to help us do it.
In this role, you’ll get real, hands-on experience in PR strategy, media relations, and the creative process. You’ll learn how a PR agency operates and serves clients across sectors, best practices in media relations, brand messaging, and client reporting. You’ll have access to PR tools like media databases, analytics dashboards, and editorial calendars as well as real-world collaboration and communication skills within a professional team.
Our hybrid internship is flexible (especially depending on school credits/schedule/location) and we’re aiming to fill this position starting early February 2026. You’ll regularly report to an Account Executive and our organization’s Vice President, who will help manage your workload and train you on the ins-and-outs of PR. We want to note that our program operates on a school credit system, so this is an unpaid opportunity. We’ll work with your advisor on our end to make sure we fulfill the requirements you need for your elective. We’ve outlined the key responsibilities and expectations below.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Assist with building and updating media lists (and influencer/celeb lists as needed)
- Media Monitoring and Reporting
- Content Creation
- Media Outreach Support (here’s a glimpse at it!)
- Support influencer and media outreach around launches, activations, or campaigns.
- Administrative & Team Support as needed
- Join three coffee dates (1 per month) with Elle team members to pick their brains and ask any questions you’d like about the industry
- Attend weekly All Hands meetings with teammates
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS:
- Must be attending an accredited university/college
- Must be able to receive academic credit for this internship
- Strong research skills & a passion for social impact
- Interest in PR, media, and influencer engagement
- Knowledge of social media platforms the news media space
- Comfortable using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
- Ready to learn, contribute, and think creatively
- Empathy: You understand the needs and feelings of others and your impact on others. Through empathy, you're able to foster cultural awareness, compassion, and respect for team members and clients.
