What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Application Engineer position at Ellaway Blues Consulting?
We are currently supporting a growing advanced manufacturing business in the appointment of a Senior Applications Engineer. This position works with customers, commercial teams and manufacturing operations and will play a key role in ensuring customer requirements are translated into practical and scalable manufacturing solutions.
The role is highly visible and offers the opportunity to work across product development, prototype activities, and customer programs. It would suit somebody who enjoys solving technical problems, interacting with customers and working closely with manufacturing teams.
Key responsibilities:
• Acting as the primary technical contact for customer programs
• Supporting quotations, product specifications and prototype activities
• Evaluating manufacturing approaches and recommending practical solutions
• Working closely with engineering and operations teams to support new products
• Identifying opportunities for product and process improvements
• Supporting multiple projects and customer requirements simultaneously
• Providing technical guidance across cross-functional teams
From a profile perspective, we're interested in engineers with experience in applications engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering or technical customer support. Experience within advanced materials or other precision manufacturing environments would be particularly attractive. We're looking for somebody who understands how products are actually manufactured and can think through the journey from raw material or block form through to a finished component. Previous customer-facing experience is important, as this individual will regularly interact with customers and commercial teams to help develop practical solutions.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys variety, ownership and visibility. The environment is fast moving and collaborative, with engineers expected to stay close to the technology and work closely with manufacturing rather than operating in a silo.
