The Maintenance Support Technician plays an important role in keeping site operations running safely and efficiently. This position supports maintenance activities across processing, storage, and facility operations, helping resolve daily needs and ensuring equipment is properly serviced and ready for use.
You’ll work closely with multiple supervisors to stay aligned on daily priorities and contribute to a safe, reliable, and well-organized operation. This role may occasionally involve exposure to regulated environments, with all work performed under strict safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine lubrication of equipment and moving components to support safe, reliable operation.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to lubricants, tools, and equipment to reduce hazards and maintain a safe work area.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, including materials used, tasks completed, and any issues observed.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify signs of wear, damage, or potential malfunction.
- Pick up parts and materials from off-site vendors as needed; maintain a clean driving record to support travel requirements.
- Understand maintenance part requests and identify appropriate suppliers when sourcing items.
- Provide escort support when required for site visitors or contractors.
- Assist with inventory control, including stocking shelves, organizing materials, and contributing to inventory counts.
- Support multiple departments during planned maintenance (PM) events.
- Train and qualify to assist with Fire Watch responsibilities.
- Perform general upkeep of assigned maintenance vehicles.
- Coordinate with planners and schedulers to ensure parts and materials are available for upcoming work.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support smooth facility operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, basic correspondence, and safety guidelines; ability to communicate effectively with team members and small groups.
- Comfortable with basic math, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and calculations used in estimating or planning.
- Strong practical reasoning skills, with the ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and troubleshoot routine issues.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, including inventory software, spreadsheets, and word-processing tools.
