About the Opportunity
A well-established employee-owned construction and engineering organization is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join its growing preconstruction and estimating team. This individual will play a critical role in developing accurate project estimates, identifying value engineering opportunities, and supporting successful project execution across complex commercial and industrial construction projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside project managers, engineers, and operations teams while contributing to high-profile projects in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical construction estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine scope, risks, and pricing requirements.
- Analyze labor, equipment, and material costs to create accurate and competitive estimates.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Participate in project review meetings to evaluate design alternatives and optimize project budgets.
- Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns, assumptions, and supporting documentation for proposals and bid submissions.
- Generate estimating reports and presentations for internal leadership and project teams.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records, and project documentation for future reference.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Master Electrician license and/or significant field experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical estimating experience within commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction environments.
- Strong proficiency with electrical estimating software platforms, including Accubid or similar tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience performing detailed cost analysis.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and electrical modeling is a plus.
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, and current market conditions.
- Proven ability to evaluate value engineering opportunities while maintaining project quality and performance standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
