Summary:
We are seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the full maintenance program for a large, multi unit power generation facility that includes combined cycle and conventional assets. This is a high impact leadership role responsible for ensuring safe execution, equipment reliability, strong work processes, and effective management of both internal teams and external contractors.
The Opportunity:
The Maintenance Director will oversee short and long term maintenance planning, coordinate all outage activities, and ensure alignment between operations, engineering, procurement, and corporate support teams. This individual will play a critical part in optimizing plant performance, strengthening maintenance strategy, and developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting complex power generation assets. The role requires a hands on leader with strong communication skills, technical depth, and the ability to drive consistency across all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance function across multiple generating units, ensuring safe and compliant execution
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long range maintenance plans across all departments
- Oversee outage planning, including short notice outages and major scheduled events, ensuring budget discipline and quality outcomes
- Administer maintenance related contracts, manage vendor performance, and support procurement of parts and services
- Provide oversight of maintenance procedures, work management processes, and backlog health
- Serve as the on call leader, making clear and timely decisions during urgent or complex situations
- Troubleshoot equipment performance issues, identify root causes, and support long term reliability improvements
- Ensure equipment is maintained in optimal operating condition and available for dispatch
- Manage O&M and capital budgets tied to maintenance activities
- Lead, develop, and evaluate maintenance employees, promoting growth, skill development, and accountability
- Foster strong collaboration with site leadership, engineering teams, and central maintenance resources
Preferred Background:
- Experience with advanced power plant maintenance, combined cycle systems, or heavy industrial environments
- Skilled in planning, scheduling, and coordinating multi discipline work scopes
- Experience managing contract labor and third party service providers
- Strong ability to prioritize competing tasks and manage complex maintenance programs
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5 plus years of maintenance or operations experience
- 2 plus years of leadership experience
- Strong communication, problem solving, and team leadership skills
- High level of safety awareness, professionalism, and initiative
