Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef / line cook to oversee culinary operations in a fast-paced, high-quality dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient kitchen operations to support the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Duties

  • Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently.
  • Lead and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts, training new team members, and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, controlling food costs, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Plan menus in collaboration with executive chefs or management, incorporating dietary considerations and catering requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in managing kitchen budgets, labor costs, and operational efficiencies to optimize overall performance.
  • Support the implementation of new culinary techniques and menu innovations to enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fine dining with a strong background in food production and kitchen management.
  • Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced culinary environment.
  • Extensive culinary experience including food handling, food safety certifications, and menu planning expertise.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, cost management, and food service management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead a diverse team and coordinate with other departments such as catering or dietary services.
  • Experience in restaurant management or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality service and customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to lead a talented team while ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service excellence.

Pay: $51,784.18 - $62,363.74 per year
