Elkhorn Public Schools will consider local substitute permit holders that hold BA/MA in education, social work, child development or other education related field and/or comparable work experience and have a positive reference. Applications will be reviewed for these credentials.
Substitute teachers must possess a valid Nebraska teaching certificate or permit and have the following skills: knowledge of classroom instruction and supervision, ability to work with others, flexibility in job assignments, and be dependable and punctual. All substitute teacher candidates will be selected after an interview process.
Substitute Teacher Rate of Pay for the 2025-2026 year: $170.00 per day; $190.00 per day for long-term substitute positions.
Salary : $170 - $190
