DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County 9-1-1 (PSCC)
HIRING RANGE: Starting $23.00/hour (CT I) and upwards from $25.00/hour depending on experience (CT II)

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Public Safety Communications Center (911)

Job Summary
This is an entry level position for extensive training in the (911) dispatch routine and qualification as a Communications Tech II; responsible for multiple activities in the emergency response process; will answer and dispatch multiple personnel in response to telephone calls regarding emergency and potentially life-threatening situations; responsible for operation of IDACS computer terminal, maintenance of records, and appropriate response to calls following set guidelines.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Will be expected to meet qualifications for a Communications Tech II, be certified as an IDACS computer operator and CPR certification within 6 months
- Ability to perform multiple tasks, work at a computer terminal and enter data
- Pre-employment background check and polygraph
- Good typing skills (Minimum of 35 wpm)
