Prep Cook and Line Cook

Elk Haven Nursing Home and Silver Creek Terrace is seeking a full-time 6am-2pm cook.

As a cook you are responsible for:

• Preparing food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures
• Ensuring quality food service is provided at all times
• Preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including bussing tables after meals.
• Following food safety protocols to ensure all food is handled, stored, and served safely.
• Collaborating with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary requests or restrictions.
• Assisting in inventory management by monitoring food supplies and reporting shortages as needed.
• Participating in training sessions related to culinary skills, food handling, and safety practices.

Desired Skills

• Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and presentation.
• Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal service.
• Experience or familiarity with assisted living environments is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
