POSITION: Cheerleading Coach Needed
LOCATION: T. A. Dugger
REQUIREMENTS: Be able to provide evidence of adequate preparation, background and ability required by the position. Must be committed to implement and enforce policies and follow prescribed procedures. Must have the skill to make and effectively communicate timely decisions. and the ability to foster creativity and be responsible for innovative ideas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with cheerleaders during practices and games.
- Supervise choreography and development of cheers.
- Set practice schedules in advance..
- Attend assigned games and practice sessions. Attend all events where cheerleaders are performing, and other assignments.
- Work with the assistant coach to assess skills and assign team positions.
- Instruct cheerleaders regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, techniques of the sport.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES:
- Observe cheerleaders during events and practices to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and provide proper supervision during practices and events.
- Follow established procedures in the event of an emergency according to state, regional, and
- Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders, officials and spectators.
- Act as a team representative and promote cheerleading by communicating with the Assistant Coach, Athletic Director and administration as needed.
- Follow established procedure for supplies and uniforms.
- Work with Assistant Coach to develop a policy for awards and submit a list of award winners at the end of the season.
- Participate in special activities to include Parent meetings, banquets, and rallies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25 lbs. or the weight of an average child, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling; climbing; stooping and/or kneeling; reaching; talking; hearing; seeing.
