Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate High School Spanish Teacher to join our team at Elizabethton High School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Spanish, a love for language education, and a dedication to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for developing high-quality language lessons to students, encouraging cultural understanding, and preparing students for language proficiency exams.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with language teaching methodologies.
- Ability to use technology and multimedia resources effectively in the classroom.
- Ability to engage and motivate students and foster a love for learning.
- Ability to meet health and physical requirements.
- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting if not already on file.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective Spanish language lessons to high school students in grades 9-12.
- Create and implement a curriculum that aligns with state standards and educational goals.
- Foster an environment of respect and open communication to promote student success.
- Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate students' varying language levels and learning abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects.
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
- Promote an appreciation for culture through various activities, projects, and lessons.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with educational best practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Attend and contribute to school events, faculty meetings, and other required activities.
Physical Demands: This job may require lifting objects that exceed 25 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling; climbing; stooping and/or kneeling; reaching; talking; hearing; seeing.
Working Conditions: Normal working environment.
