What are the responsibilities and job description for the Atelier Sales Associate & Social Media Assistant position at Elizabeth Sutton Collection?
This is not a regular retail job. Read carefully.
Elizabeth Sutton Collection is one of NYC’s most distinctive art-driven lifestyle brands — built around the belief that the spaces we live in, the art on our walls, and the objects we surround ourselves with have the power to change how we feel. The Atelier at 897 First Ave is our new home base: a storefront, a content studio, and a live selling hub all in one.
We are in a period of rapid growth and are intentionally building a team of highly capable, self-led individuals who bring focus, initiative, and positive energy to the space.
This is a hybrid role where sales and storytelling go hand in hand. We’re looking for someone who naturally thinks about content. Someone who can confidently guide a client through a $500 home décor purchase or a $1,000 art print, and with that same ease, concept, shoot, and edit a Reel, post with intention, and stay meaningfully engaged with our community throughout the day.
You should feel just as comfortable creating as you are selling; bringing a sense of ownership, clarity, and elevated execution to every touchpoint, both in-store and online.
THE ROLE
This is a hybrid position — part luxury retail, part social media execution — based in our NYC Atelier at 897 First Ave. You will be the face of the brand in-store and one of the hands behind the brand online. You will not be responsible for strategy (that comes from the top), but you will be responsible for executing it flawlessly, consistently, and with taste.
SCHEDULE
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
COMPENSATION
90-day paid trial at $5,667/month (~$27/hour). Candidates who drive measurable results — in-store sales and social media growth — will continue at the same rate. After the trial period, we will offer bonus structures based on follower growth targets and atelier sales revenue targets. This is a performance-based opportunity. If you’re confident in your ability to perform, this structure works in your favor.
WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THE STORE
Deliver a high-touch, personalized client experience that feels warm, intentional, and elevated — not transactional. You will know the story behind every product and develop relationships with the repeat local customers. You’ll maintain a visually perfect store. You’ll open, close, track inventory, and keep operations running with zero chaos. You’ll treat every client as if they are the most important person to walk through the door that day — because they are.
- Deliver personalized, high-touch client experiences that convert and inspire
- Build genuine relationships and create a welcoming, elevated environment
- Speak confidently to the story, craftsmanship, and inspiration behind each product
- Maintain flawless store presentation at all times
- Assist with inventory tracking, stock organization, and merchandising
- Support all day-to-day operations including opening/closing procedures
- Maintain meticulous organization across all store systems and workflows
WHAT YOU’LL DO ON SOCIAL
Execute a content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Whatnot. This means: capturing content in-store, editing it using AI tools, posting on time according to the content calendar, answering DMs, and maintaining engagement with the audience. You must have hands-on knowledge of live selling on TikTok and the ability to learn Whatnot quickly.
- Capture elevated, on-brand content in-store (Reels, Stories, product moments)
- Edit content using AI-assisted tools for speed and quality
- Post consistently across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Whatnot per the content calendar
- Manage DMs and community engagement across all platforms
- Execute live selling on TikTok; learn and operate Whatnot
- Maintain brand aesthetic, tone, and visual identity in every post — every time
WHAT YOU’LL HANDLE IN THE SYSTEM
You will work within our CRM, inventory tracking system, and Google Drive-based operations infrastructure. You will follow documented workflows for inventory, content, and sales without needing to reinvent them. You are organized, accurate, and reliable — every time.
- Maintain and update CRM records accurately
- Follow inventory, content, and sales workflows with disciplined adherence
- Use AI tools to support editing, data entry, and operational efficiency
- Work proficiently within Google Drive, Sheets, and shared organizational systems
YOU ARE
- Digitally native — you live on Instagram and TikTok not as a consumer but as a creator
- Someone who knows what performs and why — and can execute it
- A fast, skilled video editor with an aesthetic eye for elevated content
- Not allergic to spreadsheets
- The person in every room who figures things out and gets things done
- Well-dressed, polished, and brand-aware
- A clear communicator who never brings personal drama into a professional space
- Punctual and reliable without exception
- Self-motivated, hungry, and proud of your output
YOU HAVE
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest — including Reels, Stories, live selling formats, and DM management
- Working knowledge of how TikTok live commerce works
- Familiarity with Whatnot, or the drive to learn it immediately
- Strong working knowledge of AI tools for editing and productivity
- Comfort with CRM systems and digital filing
- Proficiency in Google Drive and spreadsheets
- Retail or client-facing experience, particularly in a boutique, luxury, or design-forward environment
- Excellent multitasking and the ability to context-switch without dropping anything
