HEAD VARSITY VOLLEYBALL COACH

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of volleyball, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for empowering young women through positive, competitive athletic experiences. The coach will be responsible for building and developing a top-tier program capable of competing at the highest levels of the WCAC, as well as demonstrating the ability to successfully fundraise in support of the program’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive volleyball program that aligns with the values of Elizabeth Seton High School.
- Establish and maintain a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and respect among players and coaches.
- Excellent communicator and build a partnership with parents and players
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
- Coaching and Training:
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions to develop athletes’ skills and physical conditioning during season as well as during the off season.
- Provide tactical and strategic guidance during games and tournaments.
- Foster the development of individual and team skills through drills, exercises, and competitive play.
- Team Management:
- Select and manage assistant coaches.
- Evaluate player performance and provide feedback to encourage growth and improvement.
- Player Development:
- Encourage academic excellence and encourage academic achievement among student-athletes.
- Support the personal development of players, including leadership and teamwork skills.
- Address any individual needs or concerns of players in a timely and supportive manner.
- Recruitment and Promotion:
- Identify and recruit talented athletes to join the volleyball program.
- Promote the volleyball program within the school and the community to enhance its visibility and reputation.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of team activities, including practices, games, and player performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant school, WCAC conference regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a safe environment for all participants, adhering to best practices for injury prevention and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience
- Proven experience as a volleyball coach
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred (if not will be provided upon hire)
