JOB SUMMARY:

Directs and works alongside the team throughout the shift. Is responsible for achieving daily goals, leading and upholding the company standards during their assigned shift. Is responsible for training newly hired customer service team members on each of the station’s duties, tasks, and responsibilities in accordance with the company’s training materials.

This position is also responsible for maintaining the bar area, filling drink orders, and raw bar orders for restaurant and bar patrons. This position must have extensive knowledge of liquor, mixed drinks, beer, and wine along with raw bar items such as crab and oysters. Thinking quickly, awareness of surroundings and monitoring patrons for signs that they have had too much alcohol are also skills required. Providing top-notch customer service while maintaining control of the bars, serving drinks, food and managing the financials requiring attention to detail and extreme focus.

This position will also take FOH inventory and put in orders as necessary.

KEY PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manages operations of the customer service shift in coordination with management objectives
• Responsible for promoting our Core Values & Discipline and setting the standard for the operation through leadership by example
• Monitors and maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of all back of house areas, front of house areas and equipment
• Understands the importance of training and developing staff members and follows all company training programs
• Resolves all guest complaints, to ensure a flawless recovery to build brand loyalty
• Mix drinks using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits, including standard and unique drinks
• Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each customer and maintain a safe environment by identifying problem clients and having them removed
• Keep bar area clean, safe and organized
• Proper cash handling procedures; balance cash receipts; maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift
• Mix all drinks on the standard serving sizes, keeping drink costs at a minimum
• Efficient work pace that keeps customers at the bar and in the dining room satisfied at all times
• Take beverage orders from customers or wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail
• Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons
• Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers; maintain a valid TABC license
• Keep a well-stocked bar with all necessary supplies
• Place orders for bar product
• Monitor all patrons for alcohol intake to appropriate levels and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior
• Assist in ensuring patrons always have a safe ride home, calling a taxi or other car service when appropriate
• Ensures compliance with operational standards
• Completes all job duties assigned by members of the Management team
• Shucks fresh oysters, clams, scallops’ bivalves
• Cleans and prepares shellfish for serving to customers
• Mix ingredients to make sauces for serving with raw bar items
• Follow established recipes and plating requirements as set by management
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored and safely used
• Follow all sanitation procedures for shucking tools

• Can lift and carry 30-50 pounds several times per shift
• Has sufficient mobility to move and/or operate in work area
• Can stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to 4 hours at a time
• Must meet any federal, state, county, or municipal regulations pertaining to the service of food and beverages.
• Extreme environmental demands on restaurant employees are few. Most of work takes place indoors, in climate-controlled areas. At times restaurant areas can become quite warm.
• The only chemicals involved are those for cleaning. Training is given for their appropriate use.
• Required minimum two years’ experience in a full-service customer service environment
• Required minimum of two years’ experience working as a bartender
• Demonstrated abilities to manage a staff of personnel
• Excellent guest service skills
