Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse to support a pediatric patient with specialized medical needs in Milledgeville, Georgia. This part-time role provides hands-on care for a child diagnosed with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy. The LPN will work closely with the family and care team to ensure the child’s comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct pediatric nursing care, focusing on children with Cerebral Palsy or related neurological or physical conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and basic therapies.
• Monitor and assess the child’s condition, documenting observations and reporting any changes promptly.
• Educate and guide family members on safe care routines including feeding, mobility support, and the use of home medical equipment.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to follow individualized care plans.
• Perform routine nursing tasks such as vital signs, feeding tube management, basic wound care, and assistance with daily activities.
• Maintain accurate medical records that meet state and agency standards.
• Participate in ongoing training to remain current with pediatric and neurological care practices.
Qualifications
• Active Georgia LPN license, required.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience, pediatric or neurological care preferred.
• Compassionate, patient centered approach to caregiving.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with families and care teams.
• Current CPR certification, PALS preferred or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting children with Cerebral Palsy or similar conditions.
• Familiarity with pediatric home care equipment such as feeding pumps, mobility devices, suction equipment, or positioning aids.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage care tasks independently.
