Construction Estimator
Location: Atlanta, Georgia

A growing Atlanta based construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with three to five years of commercial construction experience. This role is central to the success of each project and supports both conceptual and detailed estimating for Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, and Retail projects.
The Estimator will perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor bids, analyze proposals, and support the development of budgets, GMPs, and hard bids. This position is ideal for someone who has strong foundational estimating skills and is ready to manage larger scopes and contribute to preconstruction strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management and Quantity Takeoff
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify gaps, risks, and constructability concerns
- Manage RFIs during bid phases to ensure clear information is available to subcontractors
Subcontractor Coordination
- Review and level subcontractor proposals to confirm scope alignment, clarifications, and exclusions
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors in the Atlanta and Southeast markets
Budgeting and Cost Analysis
- Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, equipment pricing, and material fluctuations
- Participate in value engineering discussions and suggest cost saving alternatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience estimating Healthcare, Light Industrial, or Commercial projects is strongly preferred
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and the ability to work within estimating software platforms
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain scope details and present findings
- Self-motivated mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk active construction sites, climb temporary stairs, and perform visual inspections
- Ability to focus on numerical data and technical documents for prolonged periods
