We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions in the hospital setting. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests, and collaborating with other medical specialties. You should have experience in one of the following Nurse Practitioner specialties for at least 1-2 years: family medicine or psychiatry. This opportunity is also ideal for an experienced nurse practitioner who needs preceptorship hours for a PMHNP certification. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a positive attitude, patience, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills. This is a fast paced environment and requires efficient time management. The ideal candidate will be expected to be proactive and self motivated as this position requires the Nurse Practitioner work and make clinical decisions independently.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Propose treatments for acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on diseases and prevention
- Participate in medical staff meetings
- Promote good health practices
Skills
- At least (1-2) years of experience as a Family Medicine or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting - required
- Psychiatric Certification OR Family Board Certification - required
- Valid Florida nurse practitioner license - required
- Minimum of two years of case logs required
- DEA license or proof of submitted application is required.
- Knowledge of EPIC software would be a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
