What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at Wanderlust Concierge Healthcare?
Job Title: Autonomous Nurse Practitioner (1099 Contractor)
Location: Brandon, FL
Focus: Veteran Disability Exams (C&P) & Concierge Primary Care
Earnings Potential: $100,000 – $150,000 (Based on volume and panel growth)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-level, autonomous Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team. This is a 1099 independent contractor position designed for a provider who values clinical freedom, minimal administrative busy work and a modern work-life balance.
You will lead the clinical side of a stable VA disability exam contract while growing a concierge Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership panel. You focus on healthcare; our infrastructure handles the logistics.
The Role & Infrastructure
To ensure your success and maximum earning efficiency, we provide a full-service support ecosystem:
- Dedicated MA Support: A seasoned Medical Assistant is provided to handle all VA chart prep, veteran intake, and administrative filing. Note: Our clinical support staff maintains a consistent schedule of 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Thursday, providing a reliable window for high-volume exam throughput.
- Communication & Triage: An LPN manages the "front line" of patient communication, protecting your time from routine refills, scheduling, and non-clinical inquiries.
- Tech Stack: We utilize a charting system for streamlined, mobile-friendly charting and an app for HIPAA-compliant, asynchronous care.
The Workload
- Diagnostic Exams (VA): Perform comprehensive General Medicine DBQs and Medical Opinions. These are non-treatment, diagnostic evaluations.
- Membership Care (DPC): Provide personalized primary care to a capped membership panel.
- Flexibility: As a contractor, you manage your own clinical flow; however, most providers find maximum efficiency by aligning with our established MA/Support staff schedule.
Compensation
This is a production-based role with a high ceiling.
- Fixed-Fee Per Exam: You are paid a flat rate per VA exam completed.
- Monthly Management Fee: You receive a recurring monthly fee for every member on your DPC panel.
- The "Floor": New contractors typically see an earning potential of $100k in their first year as they scale their membership panel alongside the steady VA exam volume.
Requirements
- Autonomy: Must be an NP with FL licensure (Full Practice Authority preferred). FNP preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of clinical experience. C&P experience is a plus but we will provide training on our specific documentation protocols.
Tech Literacy: Must be comfortable navigating digital EMRs and secure messaging apps.
Pay: From $99,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Flexible schedule
- Professional development assistance
Work Location: In person
Salary : $99,000 - $100,000
