Job Summary:
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides compassionate, non-medical, hands-on assistance to clients in their homes or residential settings. PCAs support individuals who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from illness by helping with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Provide mobility assistance, including transferring and ambulation support
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, following any dietary guidelines
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and maintaining a clean living space
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Observe and report changes in clients’ condition or behavior to supervisors
- Remind clients to take medications (as permitted by state regulations; no administration)
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided
- Follow all safety, infection control, and care plan guidelines
