Security Officer

Pay: $19 - 20/hr

The company provides high-level security services to residential clients across Miami-Dade and Broward County. Elite Guard operates two offices in Sunny Isles Beach and Fort Lauderdale, both available to support clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Officer role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring assigned premises, conducting regular patrols, and maintaining a visible security presence to deter incidents. Responsibilities include controlling access to properties, verifying identification, observing and reporting suspicious activity, and responding to alarms or emergency situations in accordance with company protocols. The role also involves writing clear incident reports, communicating with clients, colleagues, and law enforcement when necessary, and following post orders and safety procedures at all times. Security Officers are expected to maintain professionalism, provide courteous customer service, and support a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform site patrols, access control, and basic security monitoring, including observing, identifying, and reporting potential risks or incidents.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors, clients, and public safety personnel, and for writing clear, concise incident and shift reports.
• Capacity to remain calm under pressure, respond to emergencies, follow established procedures, and make sound decisions in rapidly changing situations.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail, with a strong focus on customer service and maintaining a respectful, inclusive environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid Florida Class D (or appropriate) security license or eligibility to obtain one; clean background and ability to meet all regulatory and company screening requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is beneficial but not required.
• Familiarity with basic security technology (e.g., CCTV systems, access control devices, radios) and willingness to learn company-specific procedures and tools.
