Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to lead our School's Out Fun Camp. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of engaging summer camp activities for children, ensuring a safe, educational, and enjoyable environment. The Program Director will serve as the primary leader responsible for creating memorable experiences that foster learning, creativity, and social development and FUN among participants. Candidates with a background in higher education teaching, education administration, or university experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote fun, learning, and social interaction.
- Supervise and coordinate camp staff, including counselors and activity leaders, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage daily operations of the camp, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics planning.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages engagement and participation.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camp activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and camp policies to maintain a secure environment for children.
- Collaborate on marketing and promotional strategies
- Assist with recruiting and training seasonal staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior experience working with children in an educational, coaching, or recreational setting
- Previous leadership experience in a school, camp, sports, or youth program environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead by example and foster a positive environment for staff and campers
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, enriching and FUN environment for all participants
- Self-starter with high energy, problem solving skills and a passion for delivering an exceptional camp experience for each child
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 40 per week
