Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete and accurate estimates for commercial and multifamily electrical construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop competitive proposals.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop conceptual budgets, design-build estimates, and value engineering recommendations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Preconstruction, and Operations teams during bid development and project handoff.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and client presentations as needed.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid documentation.
- Support business development efforts by helping secure new projects and maintain strong client relationships.
- 7 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or multifamily construction.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and estimating best practices.
- Experience preparing estimates for projects ranging from several million dollars to large-scale electrical construction projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial, multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, mission-critical, industrial, or mixed-use electrical construction.
- Experience with design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid projects.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination, preconstruction services, and value engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
