Responsibilities:
- Contact patients by phone, email, or mail regarding overdue medical accounts
- Review patient billing information and explain charges and payment options
- Set up payment arrangements and process payments
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify claims and resolve billing issues
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities and account updates
- Follow federal and state debt collection laws and HIPAA regulations
- Resolve patient concerns professionally and courteously
- Monitor delinquent accounts and recommend further action when necessary
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare administration preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance claims, and billing procedures
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
