Position Overview
The B-Level Technician is responsible for accurately diagnosing, repairing and maintaining customer vehicles while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and professionalism. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic capabilities and the ability to work independently while collaborating with service advisors and fellow technicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and accurately identify maintenance and repair needs
- Diagnose drivability, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, cooling and engine performance concerns
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, tire rotations and scheduled maintenance
- Complete repairs on engines, suspension systems, braking systems, cooling systems and driveline components
- Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems using scan tools, wiring diagrams and diagnostic equipment
- Perform wheel alignments and suspension adjustments
- Utilize digital vehicle inspections and properly document findings with photos and notes
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate findings effectively to service advisors
- Follow manufacturer procedures and industry best practices
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
- Assist and support fellow team members when needed
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform repairs independently with minimal supervision
- Experience using scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable, punctual and team-oriented attitude
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Preferred
- ASE Certifications
- Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Subaru, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, or other European vehicle experience
- Experience with diesel diagnostics and repair
- Alignment experience
- Experience with Tekmetric or other shop management software
