What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing position at Elios Talent?
Director of Marketing
Full-Time • Houston, TX (Downtown) • In-Office with WFH Fridays
About the Role
A high-performing executive search and professional placement firm is hiring its first-ever Director of Marketing to build and lead a fully in-house marketing function.
The firm operates at the very top of its market — placing professionals into roles ranging from $2M to $30M in total compensation. With $90M in annual revenue and ~27–30% EBITDA margins, the business is financially strong and entering a major growth phase.
Historically, all marketing has been outsourced. Leadership is now ready to bring marketing fully in-house and is looking for someone who can own the function end-to-end — from brand strategy and digital presence to executive thought leadership and high-impact communications.
This is a builder role. The person stepping into this seat will have the opportunity to shape the brand, create the marketing infrastructure, and elevate the firm’s public presence to match the caliber of its work.
What You’ll Do
Brand Strategy & Development
- Define and evolve the company’s brand identity across all channels
- Build executive and employee thought leadership platforms
- Ensure every external touchpoint reflects a polished, top-tier professional services brand
Digital Presence
- Own the company website strategy and redesign initiative
- Lead LinkedIn and digital content strategy for the firm and its leadership
- Create a cohesive digital narrative that reflects the caliber of the firm’s work
High-Impact Content
- Develop investor presentations, pitch decks, and board-level materials
- Produce client engagement collateral and executive communications
- Draft press releases, market insights, and brand storytelling content
Internal Communications
- Build internal marketing and communications materials that reinforce the company’s vision and growth trajectory
- Ensure employees feel connected to the firm’s mission and momentum
Strategic PR & Visibility
- Identify opportunities to highlight major placements and firm achievements
- Navigate confidentiality constraints while ensuring the right stories reach the market
Important: This is not a lead generation role. The firm operates through highly targeted relationships and does not rely on traditional marketing funnels.
What We’re Looking For
- 6 years of marketing experience across brand, digital, and content strategy
- Experience in professional services, executive search, financial services, consulting, or similar high-trust environments
- Strong writing and storytelling ability with a portfolio of high-quality work
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
- Experience managing websites, digital content, and LinkedIn brand presence
- Comfortable building a marketing function from scratch
- Strong design and presentation instincts (pitch decks, brand materials, executive communications)
- Ability to operate in a high-discretion environment
Compensation
- Base Salary: $130,000 – $170,000
- Bonus Eligible
- Equity Potential for long-term impact
Location & Schedule

Growth Opportunity
This role is designed to scale with the company. As the firm continues its expansion and acquisition strategy, the Director of Marketing will have a clear path toward Chief Marketing Officer.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role and build the marketing engine for a firm operating at the very top of its industry.
