Momentum Financial Management SME (Federal ERP)
Overview
We are supporting a critical federal financial system environment where continuity, stability, and expertise are non-negotiable.
This role sits at the center of a high-visibility situation involving the Momentum Financial Management Solution, a core ERP platform used by U.S. federal agencies for accounting, budget execution, procurement, and financial reporting.
Due to a sudden gap in vendor support, this team is stepping in to stabilize and operate the system in a live production environment. This is an opportunity to have immediate impact, take ownership, and operate as a true subject matter expert.
There is also potential to support as part of a broader team deployment.
What You’ll Do
Production Support & Operations
- Provide day-to-day operational support for the Momentum application in a federal production environment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve batch processing failures including nightly cycles, payment runs, Treasury disbursement interfaces, and reconciliation jobs
System Configuration & Functional Support
- Perform application configuration changes including business rules, posting models, workflow routing, and user security
- Diagnose and resolve functional issues across Financials, Acquisitions, and Budget modules
Financial Operations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform USSGL trial balance reconciliation and support financial statement preparation
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with federal financial standards
Integration & Interfaces
- Maintain and support integrations with Treasury systems including CARS/GWA, CIR, and IPAC
- Support agency feeder system interfaces and data flow integrity
Collaboration & Delivery
- Coordinate with agency finance teams, help desk, and engineering teams to triage and resolve production issues
- Support system upgrades, patching, and regression testing
- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
Required Experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience supporting CGI Momentum in a federal production environment
- Direct experience with Momentum batch processing including scheduling, monitoring, failure analysis, and recovery
- Strong working knowledge of Momentum Financials including GL, AP, AR, and Budget Execution
- Understanding of federal financial standards including USSGL, OMB A-136, and Treasury Financial Manual
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize issues, and communicate clearly with stakeholders
Preferred Experience
- 5 years of Momentum experience across federal environments
- Experience with Momentum Acquisitions and FAR or DFARS workflows
- Familiarity with cloud or Momentum-as-a-Service environments
- Experience with Sunflower asset management integration
- Knowledge of G-Invoicing, IPAC, and intragovernmental transactions
- Experience with system upgrades or migrations
- CGFM or CPA certification
