Our client seeks a Development Tester to expand automated test coverage for backend microservices supporting advanced in-home Wi-Fi routers. The role focuses on REST API testing, Java-based automation with JUnit and Spring Boot, and end-to-end validation across complex microservice ecosystems. The engineer will collaborate with the team, perform targeted manual testing for system familiarity, and troubleshoot defects across services and integrations.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automated backend tests for REST APIs using Java and JUnit.
- Execute end-to-end testing across microservices, including message-driven and asynchronous workflows.
- Conduct manual testing to validate scenarios, reproduce issues, and build domain understanding.
- Troubleshoot and debug defects across services, integrations, and data layers.
- Create clear test documentation, including test plans, cases, and results.
- Use tools such as Postman or Insomnia and command-line utilities like curl or HTTPie for API validation.
- Collaborate with engineering and QA to improve coverage, reliability, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Leverage Kubernetes and AWS environments for test execution and environment validation.
- Strong understanding of REST concepts and API testing.
- Strong Java and JUnit automation skills.
- Knowledge of core programming concepts including serialization, mapping, collections, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with complex microservice end-to-end testing.
- Defect troubleshooting and debugging experience.
- Strong test documentation and technical writing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of frontend development or testing with React and Redux.
- Proficiency with Postman or Insomnia and curl or HTTPie.
- Experience with Kafka or message-driven testing such as RabbitMQ or Spark.
- Command line-oriented testing on Unix or Mac.
- NoSQL database testing with DocumentDB or MongoDB.
- Experience with CI/CD toolkits and pipelines such as GitLab or Harness.
- Experience with TestRail for test documentation.
- Experience with JIRA and Agile methodology.
- Front-end testing with React and Redux (preferred).
- Docker exposure (preferred).
- Logging services such as Splunk or Datadog (preferred).
- Swagger exposure (preferred).
- Oxygen framework exposure (preferred).
Salary : $55 - $65
