Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Compliance Specialist based in Seattle, WA, with flexibility for remote work. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that customer operations align with regulatory requirements by implementing USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) compliance programs and monitoring adherence. Day-to-day tasks include assessing risk, maintaining regulatory compliance documentation, analyzing expenditures, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards. The role will require strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive compliance audits to assess adherence to USDA FAS regulatory standards and organizational policies, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement and maintain USDA FAS compliance training programs to educate employees, customer stakeholders, and vendors on compliance-related topics and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that USDA FAS compliance requirements are integrated into client business processes and operational workflows.
- Monitor changes in USDA FAS regulatory requirements and industry standards, providing timely updates and recommendations to executive and client leadership.
- Manage the preparation of compliance reports and documentation for regulatory agencies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Act as a point of contact for compliance inquiries, providing expert guidance and support to stakeholders across the organization.
- Manage accounting, audit, and tax processes in compliance with regulations.
- Develop and present financial reports to leadership to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients to manage financial compliance, tracking vendor expenditures against projections and flagging any potential issues.
- Resolve issues to maintain and strengthen customer trust.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field
- Proficiency in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance practices
- Strong Analytical Skills for evaluating compliance risks and ensuring adherence to standards
- Excellent Communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external entities
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to adapt in a hybrid work environment (on-site in Seattle, WA, with remote flexibility)
- Expertise in State or Federal Grant Compliance and knowledge of related laws and regulations preferred
- Previous experience in USDA FAS regulatory or compliance roles is a significant advantage
- Advanced degrees or relevant certifications preferred
Annual Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000
