Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Take customer orders accurately using toast POS system, Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cashiering duties with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
- Assist in food handling and food safety procedures to ensure high standards of hygiene and quality
- Engage with customers warmly, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions about menu items
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality
- Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and communicate needs to management promptly
- Follow all food safety regulations and proper food handling protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests
Requirements
- Previous barista experience or strong interest in coffee culture is highly preferred
- Familiarity with toast POS systems is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and making accurate change
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food preparation techniques
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Experience in serving or retail environments is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the café area, and lift moderate loads when necessary
