Position Summary
The Plant Accountant for the Company will be responsible for directing and overseeing the operational finance activities of the Company including financial plans and policies, accounting practices and reporting, cost accounting, financial forecasting and analysis and due diligence activities. The individual will require the necessary technical knowledge to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. The successful candidate will be expected to implement and enforce internal control for safeguarding of company assets while supervising accounting department personnel. Additionally, they must have necessary accounting knowledge to keep division management informed with accurate information in decision making.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly financial close process from pre-close activities to financial statement issuance ensuring compliance with prescribed closing and reporting schedules while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
- Performance of reconciliations and analytical reviews of operating results to ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting for corporate departments.
- Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan, forecast, and prior year.
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Provide effective and timely financial information, business insights/analytics and business performance evaluations.
- Provide direction and accounting knowledge to the operational business partners.
- Participates in product costing functions to include operational routings, efficiencies, and overhead allocations.
- Prepares special reports and analysis by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and makes recommendations that align with strategic initiatives.
- File all sales tax returns, census information, or other official documentation as required
- Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Experience
- 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience, with 2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred
- Experience using an SAP Business One ERP system
- Expert Excel user, with a strong understanding of vlookups, xlookups, queries and reports
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with little or no supervision
