Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding and passion for rescue and maintain a professional work ethic. Be prepared to utilize your technician skills to their fullest extent.

Duties
- IV Catheter placement, phlebotomy, administering injections and subcutaneous fluids
- Safe dog and cat restraining of all temperaments
- Knowledge of common ailments of dogs and cats
- Knowledge of common medications, vaccines and preventative care
- Medication calculations and administration
- Maintain records and stock of supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work space
- Respond to email requests and schedule appointments
- IDEXX experience a plus, but not required
Requirements
- Prior veterinary technician experience required (3 years preferred). Applicants with no previous VT experience or degree will not be considered
- Ability to work two to three 3-hour shifts during the week, one being evening availability (flexible hours)
- Saturday availability required
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care practices
- Experience with animal husbandry and animal behavior management
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory techniques
- Strong animal handling skills
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and restraint effectively
- Certification or licensing as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and compassion for animals
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
