Our client, an environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join their team in Orange, CA!
The ideal candidate will lead water/wastewater treatment, utility design, and site development projects. This leadership role is ideal for a technical expert who excels at project delivery, client management, and mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manage water/wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
- Oversee schedules, budgets, subcontractors, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Lead meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support team development.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in industry organizations (ASCE, WEF, AWRA, etc.).
Engineering & Technical Oversight
- Lead design and design-build projects including:
- Water/wastewater treatment facilities
- Pump stations
- Collection and conveyance systems
- Industrial pretreatment and wellhead treatment systems
- Review technical reports, construction documents, and specifications.
- Support permitting, troubleshooting, system optimization, and feasibility studies.
- Provide occasional field oversight and contractor coordination.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering.
- 10 years of consulting engineering experience.
- Active PE license (California preferred).
- Experience with municipal and industrial water/wastewater projects.
- Knowledge of Federal and California regulations.
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
