Responsibilities
Delivery Pipeline & CI/CD (Azure GitHub)
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to deploy applications and infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) so environments are repeatable, versioned, and auditable.
- Manage build, test, security-scan, and release stages, including approvals and gated promotions across dev, test, and production environments.
- Configure and secure deployment credentials, service connections, and secrets (e.g., GitHub OIDC to Azure, Azure Key Vault) following least-privilege principles.
- Monitor pipeline health and deployment metrics, and continuously improve build times, reliability, and rollback safety.
Developer Workstation Spec & Policy
- Define and document a standard developer workstation specification covering hardware, operating system, and the approved software/toolchain.
- Establish and maintain a workstation policy covering configuration baselines, security controls, patching, and acceptable use.
- Keep specs and policies current as tools and security requirements evolve, and ensure changes are communicated clearly.
Developer Support
- Act as the first point of contact for developer tooling, environment, and pipeline issues; triage, troubleshoot, and resolve or escalate.
- Onboard new engineers, getting them productive on their workstation, repositories, and pipelines quickly.
- Maintain clear internal documentation, runbooks, and self-service guides.
- Gather feedback from developers and turn recurring pain points into platform improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, with strong hands-on GitHub Actions skills.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, identity, and deployment services).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Familiarity with Git workflows and managing GitHub organizations/repositories.
- Experience managing or standardizing developer environments and endpoints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service mindset toward internal developers.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to write usable documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with endpoint/device management tooling (e.g., Intune) and dev environment tooling (e.g., dev containers, golden images).
- Exposure to security and compliance requirements in a regulated environment.
- Experience with monitoring/observability and cost management on Azure.
Attributes
- Self-directed and reliable, comfortable owning systems others depend on.
- Pragmatic about balancing speed, security, and maintainability.
- Patient and approachable when helping colleagues.
