Our client, a global IT services firm, is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team in Ashburn, Virginia!
Responsibilities
- Primarily Structured cabling.
- Fiber and low- voltage networking.
- Minor rack and stack, maybe one item a week.
- System Monitoring and troubleshooting
- Monitor server and network performance
- Identify issues
- Perform diagnostics
- Resolve hardware or network failures promptly to minimize downtime
- Network and Infrastructure management
- Manage physical network infrastructure
- Run, label and terminate cables
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed logs of hardware, maintenance activities, system changes, and performance reports for auditing and operational tracking
- No break/fix activities: if something breaks, they just buy it new.
- Software: Outlook, and use of some sort of ticket system. (Will not deal with ServiceNow directly but rather receive work orders from SharePoint.)
- 2 person team
- Able to collaborate and take direction for lead tech
- Eager to learn- will be taught most of it
- Attendance
- May start late some days when system needs to be taken offline
- Must be onsite each day
- No additional travel needed, onsite 5 days a week at the same location.
Pay Rate: $30/hr
