Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This role is critical to the daily financial operations of the company, with responsibilities across accounts receivable, accounts payable, ledger maintenance, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (A/P):
- Process and input vendor invoices accurately and on time
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Schedule and issue payments (ACH, check, wire)
- Maintain vendor profiles and respond to inquiries
- Ensure compliance with internal approval protocols
- Accounts Receivable (A/R):
- Prepare and send customer invoices
- Monitor receivables aging and follow up on past-due accounts
- Record customer payments and reconcile receivables
- Respond to customer inquiries related to billing
- Process credit memos, refunds, and write-offs as needed
- General Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and financial accounts monthly
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support President with financial summaries and reporting
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
- Administrative and Team Support:
- Organize and maintain digital and physical financial documents
- Prepare for and assist during annual audits
- Collaborate across departments to support financial operations
- Recommend improvements to systems and processes
Pay range: $50000 to $60000 per year
Required skills
Required:
- 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in regulated or fast-paced industries (e.g., cannabis, healthcare, manufacturing)
- Familiarity with accounting software integrations and reporting tools
Preferred seniority
Overall: Mid-level (2-5 years) or higher
