Duties

• Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation between Vietnamese and English in face-to-face settings across various industries.
• Conduct simultaneous interpretation during live events or meetings to facilitate real-time understanding.
• Perform consecutive interpretation by listening, processing, and relaying messages clearly and precisely.
• Support educational interpretation needs, including assisting with language comprehension in academic or training environments.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics when handling sensitive information.
• Demonstrate cultural competency by understanding nuances, idioms, and contextual cues in both languages.
• Collaborate with clients and professionals to ensure effective communication flow while managing linguistic challenges proactively.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Vietnamese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in interpretation—especially in-person interpretation for diverse settings such as medical, legal, or business environments.
• Proficiency in interpretation techniques including simultaneous, consecutive, and over-the-phone interpretation.
• Knowledge of translation principles, linguistic nuances, and cultural differences relevant to Vietnamese and English speakers.
• Demonstrated professionalism with a strong sense of ethics, confidentiality, and integrity.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different contexts while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
• Educational background or certifications related to linguistics or interpretation are preferred but not mandatory.
