What You'll Do
What We Need From You
What You'll Do
- Review and code office, hospital, and surgical procedures.
- Ensure accurate and compliant inpatient and outpatient coding.
- Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes from medical records.
- Review surgical reports and work coding denials.
- Identify coding improvements and reimbursement opportunities.
- Provide coding education and support to providers.
- Monitor coding trends, missing charges, and compliance.
- Support provider meetings, special projects, and contract coders.
What We Need From You
- Surgical Breast Oncology and Hematology/Oncology coding experience.
- Ability to capture all billable charges through chart review.
- EPIC charge entry, review, and submission experience.
- Strong inpatient and outpatient E/M coding experience.
- Profee coding experience only.
- 5 years of medical coding experience.
- 2 years of specialty coding experience.
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Strong medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge.
- Proficiency in Epic and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes.
- Ability to train staff, prioritize work, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organization, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification required.
- GYNONC, GI (CGIC), or OBGYN (COBGC) coding experience.
- Denials management experience.
- Specialty coding certification or CIRCC certification.
- Must reside in California (remote eligible).
- Interest in converting to full-time employment.
