Must-have/Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in optical fiber, ribbon, or precision manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and contamination control
- Hands-on experience with optical fiber handling, ribbonization, and precision equipment
- Proficiency in SPC, MES, and process data analysis
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and procedures
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and mentoring skills
- Operate, monitor, and optimize cleanroom-based optical ribbon and cable manufacturing processes
- Perform advanced setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of ribbonization, fiber handling, and bonding equipment
- Lead process start-ups, line qualifications, and product changeovers
- Troubleshoot complex quality issues including attenuation, ribbon geometry, fiber alignment, and bonding integrity
- Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives
- Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, SOPs, and safety requirements
- Monitor in-line and off-line quality metrics and drive corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with ISO, Telcordia/GR, IEC, and customer specifications
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Analyze process data using SPC and manufacturing systems to improve yield, throughput, and uptime
- Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives
- Assist with new equipment installation, process transfers, and plant expansion efforts
- Serve as a technical mentor to Process Technicians and Operators
- Provide hands-on training and technical guidance without direct people management responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned processes or equipment
- Experience with high-count or rollable ribbon fiber products
- Knowledge of Telcordia GR-20, GR-409, GR-326, IEC standards
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- Experience supporting rapid production scale-up in a cleanroom environment
- Operate, monitor, and optimize cleanroom-based optical ribbon and cable manufacturing processes
