JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: IT Network Engineer III
Location: Hybrid – 1 day/week onsite preferred
(Strong preference for candidates within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC, 28216 or Corning, NY, 14870)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (W2 Contract)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Interview Process:
- Round 1: 45-minute Video Interview with Hiring Manager & Architect
- Round 2: 45-minute Video Interview with Director
- Possible 3rd round if required
Travel Requirement: Up to 30% domestic travel (higher during critical projects)
Contract: Anticipated through end of year with possible extension based on business demand.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer III to design, implement, optimize, and support enterprise network solutions across global environments. This role requires strong expertise in routing, switching, SD-WAN, wireless technologies, network automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Arista and Cisco environments, strong knowledge of BGP/OSPF routing protocols, MIST wireless solutions, and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, and REST APIs. Experience supporting manufacturing or OT environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Deployment
- Design and implement enterprise network solutions across data center and campus environments.
- Deploy and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based networking solutions using Arista, Cisco, and MIST platforms.
Routing & Switching
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
- Manage enterprise switching technologies to ensure network stability, resiliency, and performance.
Wireless Network Engineering
- Design and support wireless infrastructure with focus on MIST wireless technologies.
- Optimize wireless performance, availability, and user experience.
Network Automation
- Develop and maintain automation workflows using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and REST APIs.
- Improve scalability, operational efficiency, and network reliability through automation initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with global teams, architects, and business stakeholders to align network strategies with organizational goals.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain network designs, configurations, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and governance policies.
Technology Evaluation
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies, vendors, and tools to improve automation, performance, and security posture.
Operational Support
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer
- Strong expertise in:
- BGP and OSPF routing protocols
- Enterprise switching technologies
- SD-WAN and LAN environments
- Arista networking solutions
- Arista CloudVision
- Cisco networking platforms
- Network automation using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced global environments
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP, Arista ACE L5, or equivalent certifications
- Arista certifications and MIST qualifications
- Hands-on experience with:
- MIST wireless solutions
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking
- Hybrid cloud networking environments
- Manufacturing or OT environment experience preferred
- Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and cost analysis
Salary : $50 - $52
