What You'll Do
- Spend the majority of your time on the manufacturing floor — installing, debugging, and commissioning automated equipment through full startup and turnover
- Supervise and direct engineering techs, maintenance crews, and contract trades through demolition, installation, testing, and debug
- Troubleshoot electrical issues hands-on and direct the team to execute fixes and modifications
- Develop and manage project plans and timelines while keeping safety, quality, and budget on track
- Interface with external system integrators and machine builders to deliver fully integrated equipment systems on time
- Review and redline electrical drawings, installation checklists, machine specs, and parts lists — follow through with drafting
- Modify and develop PLC/PC-based control software to achieve required equipment performance
- Procure and expedite materials needed for new builds or modifications
- Provide training to techs and trades on new equipment installation procedures
- Travel to domestic and international manufacturing sites as project phases require
What We Need From You
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of power systems 480VAC and below
- Experience with PLC-based control systems and automated equipment — you need to be able to get in and make changes, not just observe
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and translate them into floor-level solutions
- Comfortable working across disciplines — IT, Mechanical, Process — and communicating up to project and site leadership
Bonus If You Have
- Experience with Beckhoff, B&R, or Allen-Bradley PLC/motion control platforms
- SCADA/HMI development experience and PID control theory knowledge
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical proficiency
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA compliance in a manufacturing setting
- Project management experience including scope, budget, and schedule development
- Background in optical fiber or cable manufacturing
