Title - Controls Engineer III
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Shift: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM M-F
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer III to support the design, installation, startup, and commissioning of advanced manufacturing equipment within a high-volume production environment.
Key Qualifications:
✅ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
✅ 7 years of Controls Engineering experience
✅ Strong experience with:
- PLC Programming (Rockwell preferred)
- HMI & SCADA Systems (FactoryTalk View, Optix, Ignition)
- Industrial Automation & Machine Control Systems
- Electrical Design & AutoCAD Electrical
- Motion Control Systems
- Ethernet/IP & EtherCAT Communications
- Machine Safety Design (ISO 13849-1 & 2)
Responsibilities:
🔹 Lead controls engineering activities for automation and capital projects
🔹 Design and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based automation solutions
🔹 Support equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning
🔹 Review electrical schematics, panel layouts, control architectures, and integration documentation
🔹 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Electrical, IT, Facilities, and Operations
🔹 Provide technical leadership to contractors, machine builders, and system integrators
Travel:
✈️ Up to 50% travel to Client facilities in Hickory and Wilmington, NC
