Elementary Teacher
Position Title: Full Time Elementary Teacher
Reports To: Building Principal

Position Summary
Responsible for creating and delivering high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. The teacher fosters academic growth, social-emotional learning, and positive behavior in their students, collaborating with colleagues and families to support student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver daily lessons in all core subjects aligned to the Michigan K–5 standards or district curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, English learners, and gifted learners
- Assess student learning regularly (formative and summative assessments), analyze data, and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, grades, and other documentation in compliance with district policies
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom climate, with clear expectations, routines, and procedures
- Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and project-based learning as appropriate
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, specialists, and other staff
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, communicate with families, and respond to parent inquiries in a timely manner
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, and other district-required events
- Uphold district and state curricular, behavioral, and safety policies
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education, reflection, and collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education required
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
- Knowledge of state standards, curriculum development, and assessment practices.
- Passage of required Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) content exam(s) for elementary endorsement
- Previous teaching or student teaching experience
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain if required by the district.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Schedule
Full time position following the district approved calendar for the academic year.
